Armando & Moises Jimenez - Biography
Armando & Moises are the nephews
of Manuel Jimenez.
They started carving once they finished school and realized that
art was their calling. The brothers specialize in creating many
varieties of animals, including some that are not found in Oaxaca.
The copal wood that they use in their work is harvested from
the local mountains. Their carving and painting style is very
similar to their uncle Manuel. The quality of their work
is
outstanding and the prices are still very reasonable.
They like to paint in vibrant primary colors. Yellow and colonial
blue are their favorites. They have
done many exhibitions in the
United States and are becoming
recognized internationally.
