Mosasaurs

Cretaceous
Period Mosasaurs
The
Mosasaur,
also known as the Sea Dragon, lived in the
Mesozoic period. It
became more common toward the end of that time.
This
giant sea reptile was called a dragon mostly due to legend and folklore.
They actually lived like other marine animals today. They ate fish and
came to
the surface regularly for air. The mosasaurs became extinct around
the same time
as dinosaurs, at the end of the Cretaceous period, about 65 million years
ago.
